About PRP Therapy
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a concentrated solution of plasma designed to help address a wide variety of conditions and symptoms. PRP is derived by taking a small sample of a patient’s blood and purifying it in a centrifuge to separate the plasma before re-administering it to various parts of the body. The average platelet count in PRP is greater than four times that in whole blood (1) and contains more than 20 different types of growth factors to help encourage new cell growth and stimulate collagen production. (2)
At Evolved Medical, Dr. Rajguru offers four different types of PRP treatment to help patients address various issues: PRP for hair restoration, PRP facelift, the PRP shot for women, and the PRP shot for men.
PRP for Hair Restoration
PRP for hair restoration is a non-surgical treatment designed to enhance one’s hair growth. PRP can be used to help improve hair growth in areas where you are experiencing shedding, thinning, and/or patchiness. When PRP is injected into the scalp, it releases growth factors that can help stimulate one’s hair follicles.
PRP Facelift
A PRP facelift is a non-invasive surgical aesthetic treatment that uses PRP to increase facial volume for a plumper appearance. This treatment is designed to effectively target and minimize fine lines and wrinkles, dull skin, skin texture issues, and sagging skin by stimulating the production of collagen. This can lead to an improvement in the skin’s tone, texture, and overall quality.
PRP Shot for Women
The PRP shot for women, also known as an O-Shot or “Orgasm Shot,” is an injectable treatment designed to increase sexual function in women. By injecting PRP into various parts of the vaginal area, such as the clitoral hood, G-spot, and others, women can experience stronger orgasms, enhanced lubrication, and improved tissue health, as well as an overall improvement in sexual satisfaction.
PRP Shot for Men
The PRP shot for men, also known as the P-Shot, is a treatment designed to help enhance blood flow and arousal in men experiencing erectile dysfunction (ED) or other sexual difficulties. Dr. Rajguru can inject the penile head and shaft with PRP to help improve sensation and increase the size of one’s erection. Additionally, PRP shots for men can be used to help treat Peyronie’s disease, or the buildup of scar tissue inside the penis. (3)
Benefits
PRP offers patients numerous benefits, including:
- Natural Healing: As PRP is derived from the patient’s blood, there is a minimized risk of allergic reactions and/or complications.
- Non-Surgical Approach: PRP is a minimally invasive treatment that does not require the use of incisions or a lengthy recovery.
- Versatile Applications: PRP can effectively address various concerns, including sexual wellness, skin aging, and hair loss.
- Minimal Downtime: Most patients can return to their daily routines immediately after their treatment.
- Improved Skin Texture: The PRP serum can increase collagen production, leading to an improvement in one’s skin texture, tone, and quality.
- New Hair Growth: The growth factors in PRP can help stimulate hair growth in the scalp.
- Increased Self-Confidence: Patients often report an improvement in their self-esteem after seeing the results of their treatment.
- Long-Lasting Results: You can enjoy an improvement in your appearance for several months or longer.

Ideal Candidates
Suitable candidates for PRP therapy include those interested in using natural, regenerative treatment methods. Patients experiencing thinning, shedding, or patchiness in their scalp are recommended to undergo PRP therapy for hair restoration. Individuals interested in addressing visible signs of aging and other imperfections on the face, as well as those interested in enhancing their intimate lives, may also find this treatment highly beneficial.
All candidates interested in PRP therapy should be in good overall health and free from any underlying medical conditions. Patients should also be non-smokers or willing to temporarily stop using nicotine. Dr. Rajuru will determine the patient’s candidacy during their personal consultation.
Personal Consultation
Each patient must attend a personal consultation at our Walnut Creek office before receiving their PRP treatment. This consultation is not just a chance for Dr. Rajguru to get to know the patient on a more personal level, but also to understand how we can best help them. Dr. Rajguru will sit down with the patient to discuss their current medications, medical history, concerns, and goals.
Dr. Rajguru will then craft the patient’s PRP therapy treatment, tailoring certain aspects to help them achieve their goals. Any preparation or recovery instructions will be provided to the patient, as well as a written quote for the cost of the procedure.

Preparation
Dr. Rajguru will prepare a set of personalized preparation instructions for the patient during their consultation once a treatment plan has been established. While preparation for PRP therapy is fairly simple, patients should still ensure they are following each instruction for the most optimal results.
Dr. Rajguru may ask patients to discontinue the use of certain medications and supplements that contain blood-thinning properties. Patients should also avoid unnecessary sun exposure when possible. They should also avoid consuming alcohol and using nicotine products. The patient should also ensure they stay well hydrated and eat nutritious meals to prepare for PRP therapy. On the day of the appointment, patients should arrive at the office with clean skin, free of any skincare products or makeup.
Procedure
We will begin your treatment by cleansing and sterilizing your skin before applying a topical anesthetic to help minimize any discomfort. We will take a small blood sample and process it through a centrifuge to separate the platelets from other materials in the blood. We will then inject the solution into the face, scalp, and/or intimate areas to help patients achieve their goals. While each patient’s treatment plan can vary in length, patients can typically expect their treatment to range from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the treatment performed and how large the treatment area is.
Recovery
There is minimal recovery following PRP therapy, as this treatment is non-surgical and only minimally invasive. Patients are welcome to return to their daily routines immediately following their treatment, but should continue to avoid physical activities or other strenuous tasks. Patients may experience redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites, but these effects will gradually subside on their own within days. If patients experience any tenderness or discomfort, Dr. Rajguru recommends that they manage it with pain medications and/or a cold compress under the guidance of our team. Dr. Rajguru will provide further instructions during the patient’s consultation.
Results
PRP for Hair Loss
The results of PRP hair restoration can typically be seen after 4 sessions, with each session showing continuous improvements. Noticeable hair growth can be seen several months after treatment, as PRP triggers follicular angiogenesis, or the process of forming new blood vessels from preexisting ones. (4) This process then stimulates dormant follicles to enter the anagen phase, or growth phase, of the hair cycle. After treatment, patients can enjoy denser, newer, and thicker growth that blends seamlessly with the natural hairline.
PRP Facelift
Following each PRP facelift, patients will be able to start gradually experiencing the effects of their treatment as collagen synthesis is stimulated. Enhanced collagen levels can lead to smoother, more youthful-looking skin, as well as an improvement in tightness and elasticity. The skin will then continue to produce collagen, with many patients experiencing their results lasting for longer than a year.
PRP Shot for Women
Initial effects of our PRP shots for women may be experienced within just a few weeks after the appointment, while more impactful effects may be experienced after several months. Patients will be able to experience a heightened sense of pleasure and increased sensitivity during their sexual activity, as well as an improvement in vaginal lubrication. Additionally, PRP can also enhance the natural tightness of the vaginal canal and enhance the sensitivity of the clitoris. These effects can potentially lead to a more satisfying intimate life and more pleasurable experiences overall. Many women also report feeling more confident and sexually empowered after receiving their injections.
PRP Shot for Men
Men can typically start experiencing the effects of their PRP shot after 1-2 weeks, while more noticeable improvements in sexual function may be experienced after a few months. Men will be able to experience firmer erections and an improvement in penile sensation. During intercourse, men may also notice enhanced stamina. (3) Most patients experience the best results when receiving PRP therapy as part of a series of regular treatments.
Corresponding Procedures
Many procedures can be performed to complement the effects of our PRP Therapy treatments, the most popular being our anti-aging treatments.
