About Lip Fillers

Lip fillers are injectable treatments that can be administered to the lips and surrounding areas to enhance their aesthetic appearance. Our team can use these injectables to augment lip shape, enhance volume, and address signs of aging.

At Evolved Medical, we use JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® XC to redefine the appearance of your lips. This is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that produces natural-looking and feeling results. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is naturally present in the eyes and joints with deeply hydrating properties. Hyaluronic acid fillers are popular for their low allergic potential, rapid recovery, ease of injection, reversibility, and immediate results. JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® XC also features proprietary Vycross® technology, which allows it to move with the natural expressions of your lips. (2)

Preparation

Your specialist will provide you with a set of instructions to help you prepare for your appointment. They may direct you to:

  • Refrain from taking blood-thinning medications or supplements.
  • Avoid using harsh or irritating skin care products around the treatment area.
  • Stop drinking alcohol several days before and after your treatment.

Procedure

Your treatment will begin with your specialist cleansing and sanitizing your lips and surrounding skin. JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® XC contains lidocaine to provide a more comfortable experience, but your specialist may also apply a topical anesthetic if you are more sensitive to pain. They will then carefully administer the fillers into the targeted areas surrounding your lips to address the appearance of deflation, volume loss, thinness, and aging.

The duration of your treatment can vary depending on the severity of your concerns and the amount of formula you receive, but most treatments last approximately 15 to 30 minutes.

Recovery

You will be able to return to most of your daily activities after your treatment, as lip fillers are fairly quick to recover from. You may experience some swelling or bruising in the treatment area, but these effects will subside on their own within several days. During this time, you will need to avoid massaging, touching, or placing pressure on the treated areas. You will also need to continue avoiding harsh or irritating skin care products and makeup for several days to help your skin fully heal. Your specialist will provide you with any additional instructions during your consultation.

Results

You can see an immediate improvement in the volume and shape of your lips, but you will enjoy the full results of your treatment once any swelling subsides. Your skin will appear smoother and more youthful as wrinkles and vertical lip lines soften.
