Andropause, also known as “male menopause,” is a condition that usually begins when men are between the ages of 40 and 50. Unlike menopause, andropause does not involve a sudden drop in hormones but a gradual decline in testosterone over time. After the age of 30, men’s testosterone levels decline by 1% each year on average (1), and some men will have lost 35% of their testosterone by the age of 75. (2) This gradual decline in testosterone can lead to physical changes such as weight gain, fatigue, reduced libido, and more. With andropause treatments, we can address changes to your body to help you restore your vitality and energy.
At Evolved Medical, we have helped thousands of patients with hormonal therapies designed to help them address their specific concerns. Dr. Amit Rajguru is a board-certified internal medicine specialist with decades of experience helping patients improve their health. About Andropause Treatments
Andropause treatments raise your body’s hormone levels to address low testosterone (Low T), ultimately helping improve your quality of life. Bioidentical hormone treatment (BHRT) is a therapy that restores your testosterone levels and balances your hormone levels with hormones identical to the ones inside your body. This treatment can improve your energy levels, sexual function, strength, and daily performance. Hormone therapy is customizable, allowing us to address several different hormone-related changes to the body.
Types of BHRT for Andropause
We offer several different treatments to help address andropause. Two of our popular treatments include:
- Injections: Testosterone can be administered through a weekly injection.
- Pellets: Pellets placed beneath your skin will slowly release testosterone to balance your hormone levels gradually.
When to Begin Andropause Treatments
If you start to notice weakness, fatigue, low libido, concentration issues, hair loss, and other symptoms, it may be beneficial to schedule a consultation with Dr. Rajguru and explore your andropause treatment options. Andropause can manifest differently for every individual, so it is important to have an experienced professional guide your treatment process. Some of the symptoms that andropause causes include:
Changes to Muscle Mass
Hormone changes can result in difficulty building and maintaining muscle mass, which can impact your ability to perform daily tasks. Addressing your hormone imbalances can help you retain muscle mass and stay at a healthy weight with optimal strength.
Fatigue
Hormone fluctuations can significantly affect your energy levels and lower sleep quality, leading to fatigue that affects your daily life. Rebalancing your hormone levels will increase your energy levels and help you enhance your daily performance.
Low Libido
Low testosterone levels may reduce your libido and affect the quality of your intimate relationships. Rebalancing your hormone levels may result in improved sexual performance.
Concentration Issues
Andropause is linked to poor concentration and short-term memory loss. A personalized BHRT regimen can help to clear brain fog and enhance your mental capabilities.
Hair Loss
Hormonal fluctuations can lead to changes in hair growth from dihydrotestosterone (DHT). As men age, they tend to have more DHT in their bodies, which shortens the growth cycles of hair follicles and causes thinner, shorter, and weaker hair growth. Rebalancing hormone levels can reverse this process and enhance hair growth.
Weight Fluctuations
Andropause is often linked to weight gain, which can affect your self-confidence and quality of life. Many patients find that their clothing does not fit properly, and in some more extreme cases, weight gain can lead to other more serious health conditions. BHRT treatments can help you shed weight more easily and accelerate your metabolism to keep weight off.
Benefits
There are several benefits to undergoing andropause treatments, including:
- Improved energy levels: You can enjoy feeling more energized, improving your ability to complete daily tasks, and increasing your productivity.
- Improved mood: Improving sleep quality and reducing mood swings will stabilize your everyday emotions, allowing you to live a happier life.
- Weight management: Accelerating your metabolism and balancing your digestive hormones will help to keep weight off.
- Improved libido: Increasing your testosterone levels will boost your libido, leading to more satisfying intimacy.
- Enhanced sleep quality: Poor sleep is a common concern for andropause patients, and many men experience strange dreams as their hormones shift. Addressing hormone levels will lead to better, deeper sleep that enhances your daily performance.
- Improved cognitive function: If you are experiencing brain fog, hormone therapy can help you think more clearly.
Candidates & Consultation
Men experiencing any of the symptoms listed above and/or any others linked to hormonal changes may benefit greatly from andropause treatments. Prospective patients should be in good general health, keep realistic expectations regarding their results, and be prepared to make lifestyle changes under the guidance of Dr. Rajguru.

We will create a personalized treatment plan to help you improve your well-being, and we can discuss the lifestyle changes you need to make for optimal results. Treatment Process
The treatment process will look different for each patient depending on the symptoms they struggle with and the severity of each symptom. Some patients may benefit more from weekly injections, while others may be able to address their concerns with pellet therapy. If you receive hormone injections, we will instruct you on how to safely administer your injections. If you receive pellet therapy, we will apply topical anesthesia, and Dr. Rajguru will painlessly place the pellets beneath the skin above the buttocks. With either treatment, you will be required to attend follow-up appointments to allow Dr. Rajguru to assess your hormone levels and make adjustments to your personalized treatment plan.
After Your Treatment
As your andropause treatments take effect, you can expect to enjoy several benefits, such as an improved libido, mood, and sleep quality. Hormone therapy does not require downtime, but you should take good care of your body to enhance your results. You should maintain a healthy diet, stay hydrated, and get adequate sleep for the best results. Dr. Rajguru and his team will remain available to answer any questions you have following your treatment and will monitor your progress, making any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.
Additional Treatments
Growth Hormone GP Peptides
Peptide therapy is an amino acid-based treatment that can improve workouts, help you build healthy muscle, improve your metabolism, and increase your libido. Certain peptides may also support improved skin health and elasticity. As you age, your body’s levels of human growth hormone (HGH), also called somatotropin, slowly decline. HGH helps the body repair itself, and when your growth hormone levels are low, you may experience a decline in muscle mass, chronic fatigue, and reduced sex drive. Peptides are thought to improve these issues by binding to cell receptors and sending signals to your body about the areas that need growth or healing. They can be administered through injections or orally.
Cost of Andropause Treatments in Beverly Hills
