Neuromodulators (Botox and Dysport)

Smooth Dynamic Lines and Wrinkles — Precise, Natural-Looking Results

Botox $15/unit  ·  Dysport $5/unit

Who It's For

Neuromodulators are appropriate for patients with dynamic wrinkles — lines that appear or deepen with movement — including forehead lines, frown lines (11s), crow's feet, and brow furrows. They are also used for brow lifting, jaw slimming, and excessive sweating.

How It Works

Botox$15 per unit
Dysport$5 per unit
Unit counts vary by treatment area and are discussed at your appointment.

Botulinum toxin type A is injected into targeted muscles to temporarily inhibit contraction, which softens or eliminates the lines associated with those movements. We offer both Botox and Dysport — your provider will recommend the right option based on your treatment areas and goals:

Botox

Precise and predictable. Onset 3–5 days. Well-suited for smaller, targeted treatment areas.

Dysport

Slightly faster onset of 2–3 days with a slightly wider diffusion pattern. Well-suited for the forehead.

What to Expect

Treatment takes approximately 15–20 minutes. Most patients experience minimal discomfort. Full effect is visible at 14 days — your follow-up appointment allows for any touch-up adjustments. Results last 3–4 months on average, with many patients finding that consistent treatment extends the interval over time.

Safety & Side Effects

Neuromodulators have an extensive safety record. Common temporary effects include mild bruising and redness at injection sites. Rare effects include asymmetry or brow/eyelid drooping — both temporary and preventable with proper technique and post-treatment care compliance.

Frequently Asked Questions

No — when done well, results should look natural and refreshed. We focus on softening movement rather than eliminating it, and always dose conservatively for a first treatment.
3–4 months on average. With consistent treatment, many patients find results last longer over time as muscles relax.
Both use botulinum toxin type A with very similar safety and efficacy profiles. Dysport has a slightly faster onset and a slightly wider spread — making it well-suited for larger treatment areas like the forehead. Your provider will recommend the best option for your goals.

Side Effects

  • Bruising: Common; resolves 5–10 days. Arnica or cold compress helps.
