      Drink Green Tea as a Part of a Healthy Lifestyle

      The best way to age well is to embrace a healthy lifestyle. Whether you are in your thirties, forties, fifties, sixties, or older, there is no better time than now to make small, impactful changes. We are indebted to Western medicine for extending our lives in innumerable ways. But if we don’t couple prescription medications and radical interventions with good day-to-day practices, our long lives will have no quality. We want to not only age, but to age well. There is also a correlation between green tea consumption and a reduced risk of diabetes. That makes sense to us because we know that polyphenols help to regulate blood sugar. We are keeping a close eye on the increasing evidence from long-term studies being conducted.

      A Japanese researcher has reported data to suggest that drinking two to three cups of green tea daily may reduce the risk of stroke by 14 percent. If you can get that up to four cups a day, you may reduce the risk by 20 percent. Those are numbers we can get behind. It’s easy to replace a carbonated beverage or a coffee with hot or iced green tea. It’s a daily ritual that can help us become more centered and mindful. This is exactly the type of lifestyle change that adds productive, fulfilling years to your life.

      If you have time to review your social media in the morning, you have time to sip a mug of green tea and breathe deeply. Take it to your happy place, wherever that may be, and enjoy it by itself, or as part of a wholesome breakfast, such as yogurt and fruit or steel cut oats. The more you make these simple choices the more you will want to alter your daily habits for the better. Green tea is a great gateway to other positive paths to total wellness.
